Before you, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars - points of light and reason. And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn't see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything.

I got to know Shanny at a dinner through a group of friends. We chatted about our careers and she shared her experiences with me. We arranged to meet again as I was actually interested to find out more about this career opportunity.

I was told that had to go for a base camp otherwise known as a selection camp where I would meet Mr. Peter Tan. I did some research about him and realised that his agency was the largest in Singapore. Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®) achieved the Summit award in 2003 and the Apex award in 2004, an awesome feat considering that the organisation was only 5 years old. Base camp was a memorable day as right from the very start; it wasn’t any HR personnel that were interviewing me, but the Boss himself.

It was a humbling experience. He spoke of the culture of Love, Trust and Respect and how important family values were. His words really touch me deeply as my family is very important to me. The one thing that convinced me into joining Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®) was that Peter Tan made a promise to us, that if we were to join him, he would do his utmost to ensure we would be entrepreneurs and would make us successful.
